Mochi is a delicious wholegrain food made from sweet brown rice. The brown rice is steamed and then pounded into a sweet brown rice cake that is easy to prepare and is versatile. Mochi can be baked, fried/ steamed, added to a soup or eaten as a dessert. Our favourite is baked until it puffs up and then served with a sauce of genmai miso, black sesame paste & ginger.
