Grown locally in Northern NSW purely on rainwater (no flood irrigation), this insecticide-free, medium-grain brown rice is nutritious, delicious and sustainably grown by Frank Boyle at Nimbin Valley Farms.
The fibre in brown rice helps lower cholesterol, moves waste through the digestive tract and promotes fullness. Brown rice is also a good source of selenium, which plays an important role in thyroid hormone production, antioxidant production, and immune function.
Due to the drought experienced by many local farmers, not to mention nationally, Australian grown grains are in massive decline. The current stocks of grains are from the 2019 harvest which was poor, but the lack of rain in 2019 is making the 2020 harvest look potentially worse. We will continue to try to source Australian grain for as long as we can.
